Meet Michael Crisp, AKA Crispy – a NSW surfing legend and all
round good guy.
We met Crispy at the 2017 Havaianas NSW Grommet State Titles
in Maroubra, where he was one of the first to have a crack at our Havaianas
thong boards (pictured above).
He tore it up on the board and is now taking it with him as
he travels around Australia to different surfing spots and competitions.
Let’s get to know him
better
Crispy, the laid-back Aussie larrikin grew up in Cronulla (Sydney)
and has been surfing and skating since he was 10 years old. He now lives in
Ballina (Northern NSW) with his wife and three boys, and works as an elite
surfing coach; helping guide the next generation of Aussie surfers. On any
given weekend you can find him at the beach – commentating at surfing
competitions, hanging with his boys or hitting the waves.
We also asked him a few questions to get to know him better
1. What’s your
favourite beach in the world?
Pipeline, Hawaii. The power and energy in the Ocean and on
the beach, is breath-taking!
2. What are your
plans for summer?
Surf, skate, eat some sushi and hang with my family and
friends!
3. What’s your Havi’s
style?
Stripes Black and blue because blue is my favourite colour
and these Havi’s remind me of passion – blue lines in the ocean!
