The Puuya Foundation

The Lockhart River, in Far North Queensland, is one of the most economically and socially disadvantaged communities in Australia. The Puuya Foundation was established in 2008 and is a not for profit organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of the residents of Lockhart River. The Foundation offers a range of programs including healthy eating services, early childhood centres and a boarding school for young students.

Located at the Northernmost part Australia, the residents of this remote community also experience extreme heat. When our friends at The Australian Women’s Weekly alerted Havaianas to the lack of suitable footwear available, we wanted to help.

Last month we sent 250 pairs of our trusty Havi’s to The Puuya Foundation for distribution and we were delighted to see the happy faces of the worthy recipients.
