Havaianas Surf Schools

As part of our partnership with Surfing NSW (SNSW), Havaianas is also a partner of three major Sydney surf schools – Manly Surf School, Cronulla Surfing Academy and Wet’n’Wild Sydney Surf School.

We caught up with four up and coming surfers from Manly and Cronulla and asked them a few questions about themselves, surfing and summer.

Red Bull Cape Fear last year just because of the craziness of some of those blokes who’ve never surfed it before going straight out! Some of them have never surfed it before.

Favourite things about surfing?

The feeling when you’re on the wave and knowing when you land a manoeuvre or anything.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Pro surfer for sure, it just seems like the perfect lifestyle - doing what you love and travelling.

Who is your surfing hero and why?

Lakey Peterson, she is just sick as and always has fun.

What’s the gnarliest thing you’ve ever seen/done in the surf?

Being chased into shore by a kite surfer, it was funny! One of my other gnarliest things in the surf was surfing 8 foot Lanikai in Hawaii and getting so axed, 8 sets on the head, near the rocks.

Lots of fun.

Favourite thing about surfing?

Being able to express yourself in anyway, you can do whatever you want in the ocean and no one’s judging you.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I would love to be a surf coach on a boat in Bali, boat tripping around Bali and Indonesia.

Who is your surfing hero and why?

I think my surfing hero would definitely be Bethany Hamilton having gone through everything she’s been through and still being able to pull off all the stuff that she does is amazing.

What’s the gnarliest thing you’ve ever seen/done in the surf?

10-foot binging in Bali, it was hectic seeing the set come in, it was perfect but it was really scary.
