Havaianas was proud to sponsor the 2017 Havaianas NSW Grommet State Titles over the weekend, which saw over 130 of NSW’s best grommet surfers compete in an effort to claim a state title and a spot in the Havaianas NSW Team for the upcoming Australia Junior Surfing Titles.
Held at Maroubra Beach, Sydney, the scheduled 3 day event turned into 2 action packed days as mother nature pulled in a massive swell on Saturday, causing hazardous conditions.

A huge congratulations to Jai Glinderman (Lennox Head) and Cedar Leigh-Jones (Avalon) who were crowned the champions after taking out the Under-14 division on Sunday!

The high calibre of competition and the community vibes provided a fun and exciting weekend for all spectators. As title sponsor, competitors and the broader community enjoyed a bevy of fun beach-side activities including beach games, a free surfing ride and an Instagram competition with a year’s supply of Havaianas up for grabs.
Here are some of our favourite moments from the weekend…

The Havaianas Mechanical surfboard was a favourite (for both young and old)!

Havaianas surfboards!

The kids were quick to get the boards waxed up to take them for a surf!

Surf’s up!

We had so much fun at the 2017 Havaianas NSW Grommet State Titles! A massive thanks to Surfing NSW, the competitors and all the visitors who shared in the surfing action and fun over the weekend!
